80 Hot Seat Questions for Friends

Hot seat questions give one player a turn answering while everyone else asks. Choose a category, ask five questions, then pass the spotlight to the next person. You can skip any question without explaining why.

These 80 questions work around a table, on a video call or in a group chat. Start with the funny round, move into friendship stories, and save the juicy or deep questions for a group that wants them. The form above starts a separate Truth or Dare game; the hot seat questions are all here to read.

How to Play Hot Seat

Choose who goes first and agree on a category. The other players take turns asking one question each. After five questions or two minutes, move the hot seat to the next person. A small group can simply go clockwise; on a call, write down the order first.

There is no required scoring. If you want a faster game, allow one follow-up per answer. If you want longer stories, use three questions per person and skip the timer. The player in the seat can pass, and anyone can suggest a lighter category.

In a group chat, tag the person in the hot seat and send one question at a time. Wait for an answer or a pass before posting another. Avoid asking someone to share screenshots, name another person's crush or prove their answer.

Pick the Next Question Game

Hot Seat is about hearing someone's own answer. To guess their answer before they reveal it, try How Well Do You Know Me. To choose which friend fits a prompt, try Paranoia. For a mix of questions and challenges, use the Truth or Dare generator above.
